343 Flags- St. Patrick'sDay 2010

New York's Finest in the lead position.

The Irish Brigade. The 69th Regiment of the 42nd Rainbow Division- traditionally the first marchers in the parade. The author is a proud vet.The Irish wolfhounds are the old regimental mascots.

The "Commish", Grand Marshall of the parade, Ray Kelly.

The Pipes and Drums of the NYC Police Department.

Some of these cops are a wee out of shape.

Ah! The scree of the pipes and the roar of the drums put a lightness in your step.

You see Irish of every stripe in the parade!

A wee lass from Kerry, or is that Korea?

The colleens are always willing to pose for pictures.

Look at me!

"Don't be starting those fashions now, Mary McGee,
Where the mountains of Mourn sweep down to the sea"

Anchors aweigh, my boys!

And the Marines in perfect step.

The Air Force.

A grand day for man and beast.

Finally, New York's Bravest, the men and women of the NYFD.

Commemorating the fallen heroes of 9/11, 343 flags.

Everyone loves the Fire Department!

Until next year, "May the wind be always at your back."
